Campaign Closed: "Poetic Justice: Cubs World Series win=Chicago poetry film" announced about 1 month ago

We are documentary filmmakers. We also happen to be big Cubs fans. So, we thought, why not put the two together?
Here’s the deal. If the Cubs win the 2008 World Series—not just make it there, but take the whole thing (if you’re gonna dream, dream big…)—the money donated to this campaign will be used to fund our documentary, Louder Than a Bomb.
The film follows poetry teams from four Chicago-area high schools as they compete in the world’s largest youth slam, Chicago’s own Louder Than a Bomb. Our characters are great kids and amazing writers, and the film will be a showcase for the city we love, its youth, and its schools. To see for yourself, check out this ten-minute demo.
So what’s the connection between the Cubs and the film? Nothing. We just thought this would be a great way to take the hope, anticipation, and excitement of the next two months and put it to good use. So have faith, help make this happen, and GO CUBS!

Dear pledgers to “Poetic Justice” -
We wanted to let you know that in an alternate universe, the Cubs are tearing their way through the weak pitching of their National League rivals, and are on their way to the World Series! Unfortunately, in this world, the season is over, and the team’s second century of futility has begun.
Sadly, that means our objective has not been reached, and all of your pledges will now be wiped clean. We wanted to take this chance, however, to offer our sincerest thanks for your generosity and encouragement. And if you’re still interested in supporting the film, no need to wait until next year – just contact us and let us know, or spread the word to others you think might be interested.
Thanks again!
Greg & Jon

This documentary is a great idea, it’s bummer about calling it off just b/c some baseball dudes messed up. Why not make the doc just for the sake of making the doc?
(or pick a better bet and tie it to the phenomenal upcoming success of the Denver Broncos?)
On second thought, just make the doc :)
