Kellogg thinks that Americans don’t mind eating genetically engineered food.
A Kellogg spokeswoman, Kris Charles, said her company “would not have any issues” buying such sugar for products sold in the United States, where she said “most consumers are not concerned about biotech.” – nytimes
The reality is, over half of Americans do not want to eat genetically engineered foods. 90% of Americans think there should be mandatory labeling. Only 30% of Americans believe they have eaten genetically engineered foods, when in reality, nearly all have.
Stop genetically engineered sugar beets before it’s too late
Genetically engineered sugar beets will begin being planted this spring. If we don’t act quickly, they’ll begin showing up in the nation’s food supply by the end of the year.
Join this campaign, and you can help stop it. Read More

If you stand behind the idea of this campaign, you might also like the carrot campaign: Dear High Fructose Corn Syrup, Please get out of our colas. Thanks, America.
Tell soda companies that we will buy products that use real sugar and no HFCS- which also uses GMO enzymes in the processing stage.

Cubana Barbie replied on Apr 30, 2008Leave SUGAR ALONE… it is the junk we add to food that is bad for us. Immigrants arrive healthy from all 20 Latino Countries and within several years are as sickly as citizens here with our engineered quick fix diet.

tammy clayton replied on Jun 11, 2008I highly doubt that this little uprising will do anything to stop any of this. Americans keep putting “accepted” party politicians into power because they don’t know what they are doing. They only get to see any publicity on those chosen by certain powerful factions that fund those they want to put into power to pass whatever unscrupulous mess that supports that industry or corporation’s future.
When you vote for the accredited and accepted candidates, you are doing nothing but cutting your own throat and pocketbook once the electoral college votes are garnered. The saddest thing about all of this is that America was founded by those who refused to follow the accredited and accepted powers in place at the time. Instead of retaining it’s backbone and strength, America is now populated by idiots that are so overeducated they have started to become useless at protecting themselves from those larger than they are.
In effect, while chasing a career for a paltry 5 to 6 digit sum of pay each calendar year, Americans have signed over their right to controlling their own quality of life. Keep climbing that corporate ladder folks. You paid for the trip dearly while covering the cost of the education that is so highly specialized most of you would be completely helpless if you had to rely on yourselves to produce untainted, wholesome food from some dirt in your own backyard.

tammy clayton replied on Jun 11, 2008One more thought I did not mention in my prior post… Kellogg’s Cereal was actually started by a man who was a Seventh Day Adventist. That was long ago and far away, I realize, However, in the time lapse between it’s founding and today’s current accepted mass food manufacturing processes there seems to have been a loss and lapse from the honest and forthright, solidly Christian beginnings of this business. There seems to have been a downward trend for this and many other household brands over the past 20 years.
Obviously, strong and honest, seemingly upright values have left any corporate office of food manufacturers that have have been held as beneficial to your health and diet for decades into the past. The cheapening of America is totally out of control when it comes to the pre-packaged, prepared foods that you accept and purchase each and every week at the grocery store. If you keep laying out your hard-earned cash to purchase it, there will be no end to what these companies will pull off without your knowledge. Since you have rendered yourselves completely helpless at sustaining yourselves without them, you most likely have no resource but to follow along with whatever they have a mind to do to you and your diet or health. While I understand that we did not get rich while living off the land as was the practice until the 1950’s, the lack of things people had no clue of existing did not lead to the downfall of America. A country that once was stronger than any on the planet has fallen to a point as to be scorned and laughed at while it was so busy distancing itself from self-sustenance and the knowledge of the soil. Will now eat what it is fed or will starve to death in the end.
Trust me – food is not meant to be passed through a window in a sack. If that was what we should really be feeding ourselves then why was it not available 5 million years ago? BECAUSE IT IS WRONG. YOUR EXTREME INTELLIGENCE AND EDUCATION SHOULD HAVE PREPARED YOU FOR LIFE OUTSIDE YOUR CUBICLE.
